Unable to hide an album from the menu

I am unable to hide an album from the menu.

I have created a new album and left all the defaults except the one that makes the album visible to the public which I have set to No but the album is still displayed in the menu. I have also tried it with IE and Chrome with the same results.
I thought about changing the value in the default.txt file by editing the file directly but couldn't figure out which entry it was. I notice there is a missing item near the end:

What you are looking for is actually not in the "default.txt" file but rather the "order.txt" file located in the main gallery folder.

The variable would be "ispublic".

Here is an example of what we are looking for...

<item title="Flowers" thumb="flowers/thumbs/Orange_Blossom_tn.jpg" ispublic="1"></item>

After changing the "Make this album visible to the menu" option from either the album or the home admin, this variable should be "0".
If it is not changing, then there might be a permissions problem or something relating the "order.txt" file.

Hi Steve

That works OK, I changed the ispublic setting to "0" and the album disappeared from the menu. I cannot get it to change from the Gallery or Album menus however. The other settings seem to change OK though! I tried changing the permissions to 777 but it still doesn't change.

Anyway that gets me out of hole in the short term, thanks. Let me know if I can do any further testing.

Ok, glad you are able to get it done manually but seems strange that this setting won't work. I wonder if there may be a bug in the scripting, I'll look in to it and get back to you if I find anything.
Is this occurring in just this album? Have you tried it with other albums?

Yes its happening in all the albums. I'll try and add another gallery tomorrow (Can you have more than one?) and see if it still happens.

Yes you can create as many galleries as you want.
I wonder if you would be interested in giving me temperary ftp access to a new gallery on your site so that I could debug the issue.
If not that's cool.
